Description
- Nozma ODT is indicated for prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma, acute prevention of Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction (EIB), and relief of symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis (AR) including seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.
- Montelukast is a selective and orally active leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor (CysLT1).
- Dosage varies for adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients based on age and condition. Nozma ODT is not indicated for use in the reversal of bronchospasm in acute asthma attacks and it should not be abruptly substituted for inhaled or oral corticosteroids.
- Common side effects include diarrhea, fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and skin reactions. Uncommon side effects include anxiety, depression, dizziness, and sleep disorders. Rare side effects include angioedema, hallucination, memory loss, and suicidal tendencies.
- Nozma ODT has therapeutic class as leukotriene receptor antagonists. It is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product. Nozma ODT should be stored in a cool & dry place below 30°C and protected from light & moisture.
