- 1250 mg Calcium Carbonate USP (Coral source) per tablet
- 500 mg elemental Calcium per tablet
- 200 IU Vitamin D USP per tablet
- 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate USP (Coral source) per DX tablet
- 600 mg elemental Calcium per DX tablet
- 400 IU Vitamin D USP per DX tablet
- 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate (Coral source) USP per effervescent tablet
- 600 mg elemental Calcium per effervescent tablet
- 400 IU Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol USP) per effervescent tablet
Pharmacology
- Calcium is useful for the prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis and associated fractures
- Vitamin D aids in Calcium absorption and stimulates bone formation
- Coral Calcium has a chemical structure similar to human bone, ensuring better absorption
- Vitamin D3 aids in the absorption of Calcium from GI tract and helps to maintain Calcium balance in the body
Dosage & Administration
- One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water or as directed by physician
- Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water to drink orally
- Taking in full stomach ensures better absorption
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Ion exchange resins and laxatives may reduce gastrointestinal absorption of vitamin D
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of tetracycline preparations
- Hypercalcaemia may increase the toxicity of cardiac glycosides
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the components of this preparation
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Daily intake during pregnancy should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU cholecalciferol
- Avoid overdoses to prevent adverse effects on the developing fetus
- No indications of teratogenicity in humans
- Use during breastfeeding with consideration of vitamin D passage into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Monitor serum calcium levels and renal function during long-term treatment
- Monitor serum calcium levels in elderly patients on concomitant treatment with cardiac glycosides or diuretics
- Use vitamin D with caution in patients with impaired renal function
- Consider risk of soft tissue calcification
- Use with caution in immobilized patients with osteoporosis
- Consider dose adjustments when prescribing other drugs containing vitamin D
Overdose Effects
- Hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcaemia
- Symptoms of hypercalcaemia include anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, muscle weakness, cardiac arrhythmias
- Persistently high calcium levels may lead to irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification
