Description
- Oral rehydration salt for replacement of fluid and electrolyte loss
Indications
- Acute diarrhea

Composition
- Sodium Chloride: 1.30 gm
- Potassium Chloride: 0.75 gm
- Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate: 1.45 gm
- Glucose Anhydrous: 6.75 gm
Pharmacology
- Glucose based oral rehydration salt
- Prevents dehydration from diarrhea
- Prevents acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance
Dosage
- Children < 2 years: 50-100 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
- Children 2-10 years: 100-200 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
- Adults & Children > 10 years: 200-400 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
Administration
- Disperse sachet contents in 500 mL of pure drinking water
- Do not mix with hot water
- Discard unused prepared oral saline after 12 hours
Interaction
- No known drug interactions
Precautions & Warnings
- Depressed renal function may need parenteral fluids supplementation
- Severe continuing diarrhea may need additional medical attention
