Adult dosage: oral - 600 mg (of quinine salt) every 8 hours for 7 days
Adult dosage: parenteral - intravenous infusion with specific dosage regimen
Children dosage: oral and parenteral with specific mg/kg regimen
Safe for pregnant women in adult treatment doses
Not necessarily contraindicated in pregnancy
Excreted in breast milk in insignificant amount
Severe side effects include cinchonism (tinnitus, headache, nausea, visual disturbances), hematological disorders, and skin reactions
Contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity reaction, optic neuritis, black water fever
Precautions for severe heart disease, myasthenia gravis, diabetes mellitus
IV injection should be given slowly
Use of Mefloquine with Albiquin sulphate may increase the chance of side effects
