Composition

• Dithranol BP 0.75 grams per 100 grams of ointment
• Boric acid BP 1.75 grams per 100 grams of ointment
• Salicylic acid BP 2.50 grams per 100 grams of ointment

Pharmacology

• Dithranol suppresses ATP supply to epidermal cells in the skin
• Salicylic acid enhances desquamation and helps eliminate attacking fungi
• Boric acid has bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties

Dosage & Administration

• Wash affected area with warm water
• Apply a small amount of ointment to the dry affected area
• Apply once daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional
• For complete recovery, continue regular use for 3-4 days after symptoms disappear

Interaction

• May interact with fluocinolone, hydroquinone, isotretinoin, riboflavin, and tretinoin

Contraindications

• Contraindicated for acute or actively inflamed psoriatic eruptions
• Avoid use on dentures, breastfeeding, children, facial psoriasis, and genital warts

Side Effects

• Possible side effects include contact allergic reactions, skin irritation, soreness, and temporary discoloration of hair and fingernails

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Not recommended during pregnancy
