Indications
- Treatment of mild to moderate Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
Pharmacology
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antioxidant
- Anti-fibrotic properties
- Improves lung function
- Reduces acute exacerbations
- Suppresses TGF-β1
- Downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines
Dosage & Administration
- Oral administration with food
- Initial dose titration over 14 days
- Recommended daily dose of nine 267 mg tablets or three 801 mg tablets per day
- Dose adjustments for gastrointestinal events, photosensitivity reaction, and hepatic function
Interaction
- Moderate and strong inhibitors of CYP1A2 impact systemic exposure
- Reduced incidence of adverse reactions when taken with food
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
- Concomitant use of fluvoxamine
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Severe renal impairment or end stage renal disease
Side Effects
- Common: nausea, rash, abdominal pain, upper respiratory tract infection
- Rare: photosensitivity reaction, decreased appetite, pruritus

- Unknown excretion in human milk
- No effects on fertility in rats
