- Indications:
- Oropharyngeal candidiasis
- Vulvovaginal candidiasis
- Pityriasis versicolor
- Tinea pedis
- Tinea cruris

- Tinea manuum
- Onychomycosis
- Histoplasmosis
- Systemic candidiasis
- Aspergillosis
- Cryptococcosis
- Maintenance therapy in AIDS patients
- Prevention of fungal infection during prolonged neutropenia
- Pharmacology: Inhibits Cytochrome P-450 dependent enzymes, impairs biosynthesis of ergosterol, utilizes SUBA technology for enhancing bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs
- Dosage & Administration:
- 100 & 200 mg preparation
- 65 mg & 130 mg preparation
- Pediatric use not established
- Interaction:
- Should not be given concurrently with terfenadine, astemizole, cisapride, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, oral midazolam, or triazolam
- Significant interactions observed with rifampin, phenytoin, phenobarbital, digoxin, calcium channel blockers
- Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to the drug or any ingredient in the formulation
- Severe hepatic disease
- Co-administration with rifampin
