Formulation
Capsules, film-coated tablets, oroflash or chewable tablets, syrup, injection
Dosage
- Adults: 40000 IU once weekly for 7 weeks
- Children: 20000 IU once every 2 weeks for 6 weeks
- 1000 IU (1-2 tablets) daily for adults
Administration
Take with food or within 1 hour after a meal; for oroflash or chewable tablets, place in mouth and swallow after chewing
Deficiency Treatment
For Vitamin D3 deficiency prevention and osteoporosis therapy
Interactions
Can be affected by medications like Magnesium containing Antacids, Digoxin, Thiazide Diuretics, Cholestyramine, Corticosteroids
Contraindications
Hypercalcemia, hypersensitivity to Vitamin D3, evidence of Vitamin D3 toxicity

Pregnancy & Lactation
Safe use of doses up to 4000 IU during pregnancy; excreted in breast milk

- High doses in renal impairment, and during pregnancy & lactation
