Betno-CL 0.05%+1% (Cream)

Indications

• Topical treatment for inflammatory dermal infections like Tinea pedis, Tinea cruris, Tinea corporis, etc.

Pharmacology

• Broad-spectrum antifungal agent with mechanism of inhibiting ergosterol synthesis
• Corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties

Dosage & Administration

• Apply sufficient topical preparation onto affected and surrounding skin areas twice a day for 2-4 weeks based on the condition
• Not recommended for use in children below the age of 12 years

Interaction

• No known drug interactions

Contraindications

• Not for use in patients sensitive to its components, other corticosteroids, or imidazoles
• Contraindicated in several dermatological conditions and infections
• Can produce reversible HPA axis suppression with systemic absorption
• Pediatric patients may be more susceptible to systemic toxicity

Side Effects

• Adverse reactions include paresthesia, rash, edema, secondary infection, burning, dry skin, and stinging

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Inadequate evidence of safety in pregnancy
• Not recommended for extensive use in pregnancy and caution should be exercised when treating nursing mothers

Overdose Effects

• Acute overdose is unlikely and should not be used for longer than prescribed
