Indications
- Symptomatic relief of dry skin conditions
Pharmacology
- Emollient properties
- Occlusive properties
- Topical application
- Limited systemic absorption
- Penetration into the stratum corneum
Dosage & Administration
- Apply a thin film of ointment
- Apply in the direction of hair growth
- 3-4 times a day or at least twice a day
- Maximum 500g per week for adults
- Topical administration only
Side Effects
- Prolonged use may cause folliculitis
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety not established during pregnancy and lactation
- Not considered hazardous
Precautions & Warnings
- Apply in direction of hair growth
- To reduce folliculitis
Overdose Effects
- Low toxicity if ingested
- Supportive and symptomatic treatment if ingested
- Avoid gastric lavage due to risk of inhalation or aspiration
