Dasvir 60 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection in adults

Pharmacology

• Direct acting antiviral agent against the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)
• Inhibitor of NS5A that interferes with viral RNA replication and virion assembly

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended dose of 60 mg once daily
• To be taken orally with or without meals
• Administered in combination with other medicinal products
• Data available for 12-week treatment duration for treatment-naive patients with genotype 1 infection

Interaction

• Substrate of CYP3A
• May interact with strong inhibitors or inducers of CYP3A
• Inhibitor of P-glycoprotein transporter, OATP 1B1 and 1B3, and BCRP, which may affect systemic exposure to other drugs

Contraindications

• Contraindicated in combination with drugs that strongly induce CYP3A
• Includes anticonvulsants, antimycobacterial agents, and St. John's wort

Side Effects

• Serious symptomatic bradycardia when coadministered with Sofosbuvir and Amiodarone

Pregnancy & Lactation

• No available data for pregnant women or effects on breastfeeding

• Risk of adverse reactions or loss of virologic response due to drug interactions
• Potential for known or potentially significant drug interactions
• Serious symptomatic bradycardia when coadministered with Sofosbuvir and Amiodarone
• Patients counseling required for individuals taking Amiodarone therapy

Use in Special Populations

• No dose adjustment required for elderly or patients with renal impairment
• No dose adjustment required for patients with mild, moderate, or severe hepatic impairment
• Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents aged below 18 years not established

Overdose Effects

• No known antidote for overdose
• Supportive measures recommended for treatment of overdose
• Dialysis unlikely to significantly reduce plasma concentrations of the drug
