Pharmacology
- Bactericidal against broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria
- Highly stable in the presence of Beta-lactamase enzyme
Dosage & Administration
- Usual course of treatment is 7-14 days
- Adult dosage: 200-400 mg daily
- Children dosage: 8 mg/kg/day

- Increases in prothrombin times noted in few patients
- Careful with patients receiving anticoagulant therapy
