Description

  • Fevimol is indicated for fever, common cold and influenza, headache, toothache, earache, bodyache, myalgia, neuralgia, dysmenorrhoea, sprains, colic pain, back pain, post-operative pain, postpartum pain, inflammatory pain and post vaccination pain in children.
  • Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties with weak anti-inflammatory activity.
  • Tablet dosage for adults and children, extended release tablet dosage, syrup/suspension dosage for different age groups, suppository dosage, pediatric drop dosage, and special paracetamol tablet with actizorb technology dosage.
  • Interaction with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and alcohol, and chronic ingestion of anticonvulsants or oral steroid contraceptives.
  • Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol.
  • Mild side effects including haematological reactions, pancreatitis, skin rashes, and allergic reactions.
  • Use in pregnancy and lactation, storage conditions, and therapeutic class as non-opioid analgesics.

Contraindications

Precautions & Warnings

  • Care advised in severe renal or severe hepatic impairment
  • Greater hazard of overdose in non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease
  • Should not exceed the stated dose
  • Not to be taken with other Fevimol-containing products concurrently

Overdose Effects

  • Possible liver damage with ingestion of 10g or more in adults
  • Symptoms including pallor, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain
  • Liver damage may become apparent 12 to 48 hours after ingestion
  • Immediate treatment essential
  • Treatment with activated charcoal and N-acetylcysteine may be used
  • Management of patients presenting with serious hepatic dysfunction beyond 24 hours
