Pharmacology
Pregabalin is a structural derivative of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It binds with high affinity to the alpha2-delta site in central nervous system tissues and may be involved in its anti-nociceptive and antiseizure effects.
