- Suspected acute coronary syndrome: 150 mg-300 mg immediately unless there are clear contraindications
- After myocardial infarction: Aspirin 150 mg daily for 1 month, with long-term use of 75 mg daily recommended thereafter
- Acute ischaemic stroke/Transient ischaemic stroke (TIA): Starting dose of 150 mg-300 mg daily, then Aspirin 75 mg daily
- Following bypass surgery: 75 mg-300 mg daily starting 6 hours post-procedure
Interaction
- Enhancement of the effect of anticoagulants, oral hypoglycaemic agents, phenytoin, and sodium valproate
- Inhibition of the uricosuric effect of probenecid
- Possible increase in the toxicity of sulphonamides
- Potential to precipitate bronchospasm or induce asthma attacks in susceptible subjects
