Synthetic antibacterial agent, selective inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis, bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity

Infection:
- Nosocomial pneumonia
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Complicated skin and skin structure infections
- Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections
Dosage, route and frequency of administration:
- Pediatric patients: 10 mg/kg orally or intravenously every 8 hours
- Adults and adolescent: 600 mg orally or intravenously every 12 hours
- Recommended duration of treatment (consecutive days): 10 to 14
Intravenous administration: Administered by intravenous infusion over a period of 30 to 120 minutes
Hepatic impairment: No dose adjustment for patients with mild-to-moderate hepatic impairment

Drug interaction with medication: Reversible, nonselective inhibitor of monoamine oxidase, potential interaction with adrenergic and serotonergic agents
Drug interaction with food and others: Avoid large quantities of foods or beverages with high tyramine content

Hypersensitivity to Linezolid or any of the other product components
Concurrent use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or within two weeks of using such medication

Pregnancy: Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus
Lactation: Consider developmental and health benefits of breastfeeding, monitor infant for diarrhea and vomiting if breastfeeding

No cases of overdose reported, symptomatic and supportive care advised

Macrolides

Oral Suspension: Reconstitute with boiled and cooled water, shake well, store in a cool and dry place
Intravenous Administration: Administered by intravenous infusion over a period of 30 to 120 minutes
