Indications

Description
- Oral soluble film designed to be applied on top of the tongue where it will dissolve within 20 seconds
- Active ingredient: Ondansetron base

Pharmacology
- Potent, highly selective 5HT3 receptor-antagonist
- Mode of action not fully known
- Blocks 5HT3 receptors on neurons in peripheral and central nervous system

Pregnancy & Lactation
- No evidence of harm to fetus in animal studies
- Excreted in breast milk of rats
Precautions & Warnings
- Reported hypersensitivity reactions in some patients
- Should not be used instead of nasogastric suction
- May mask a progressive ileus and/or gastric distension
Use in Special Populations
- Dosage recommendations for patients with impaired renal function and hepatic function
- Limited information on dosage for pediatric patients 4 years of age or younger
