Description
- Selbis 1.25 mg Tablet is indicated in hypertension, angina, and moderate to severe heart failure
- Most selective ß1 blocker
- Reduces heart rate and cardiac output resulting in decrease of arterial hypertension
- Selective blocks ß1 adrenergic receptor in the heart and vascular smooth muscle
- Reduces heart rate and cardiac output

- Almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract
- Absolute bioavailability of 88%
- Metabolized via oxidative pathways with no subsequent conjugation
- Balanced between renal elimination and hepatic metabolism

Contraindications
- In patients with cardiogenic shock

Interaction
- Should not be combined with other β-blocking agents
- Patients receiving catecholamine-depleting drugs should be monitored closely
- Use with caution when myocardial depressants or inhibitors of A-V conduction are used concurrently
