Description

  • Topirva XR is a medication used for the treatment of epilepsy as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy in adults and children, as well as for the prophylaxis of migraine headaches in adults.

DosageAdministration

  • Epilepsy Monotherapy:
      • Adults and children over 16 years: Initial dose of 25mg nightly, titrating up to 400mg/day
      • Children aged 6-16 years: Initial dose of 0.5 to 1mg/kg nightly, titrating up to 16mg/kg/day
  • Epilepsy Adjunctive Therapy:
      • Adults and children over 16 years: Minimal effective dose of 200mg/day, up to 800mg/day
      • Children aged 2-16 years: Approximately 5 to 9mg/kg/day
  • Migraine:
      • Adults and children over 16 years: Initial dose of 25mg nightly, titrating up to 100mg/day
