Indications

  • Heterozygous Hypercholesterolemia
  • Homozygous Hypercholesterolemia
  • Mixed Dyslipidemia
  • Primary prevention of cardiovascular disease

Pharmacology

  • Selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase
  • Increases hepatic LDL receptors
  • Inhibits hepatic synthesis of VLDL

Dosage

  • Dose range: 5-40 mg once daily
  • Starting dose 20 mg/day for HoFH
  • Pediatric dose: 5-20 mg/day for specific age groups

Administration
