Indications

Pharmacology
- Fixed dose combination of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
- Angiotensin receptor blocker
- Calcium-channel blocker
- Vasodilation
- Reduction in peripheral vascular resistance
- Inhibition of aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II
- Reduction in blood pressure
Dosage & Administration
- Initial therapy with 40/5 mg once daily
- Add-on therapy for inadequate blood pressure control
- Replacement therapy for component doses
- Maximum recommended dose of 80/10 mg once daily
Interaction
- No clinically significant interaction with acetaminophen, glyburide, simvastatin, hydrochlorothiazide, warfarin, ibuprofen, thiazide diuretics, beta-blockers, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, long-acting nitrates, sublingual nitroglycerin, digoxin, non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, oral hypoglycemic drugs, cimetidine, grapefruit juice, sildenafil

Precautions & Warnings
- Avoid fetal or neonatal exposure
- Correct volume or salt depletion before initiating therapy
- Monitor for signs and symptoms of hypotension
- Titrate slowly in hepatic or severe renal impairment
- Monitor for worsening heart failure
- Avoid concomitant use of an ACE inhibitor and angiotensin receptor blocker
- Risk of precipitating myocardial infarction or increased angina in patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease
Use in Special Populations
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients not established
- Not recommended for initial therapy in patients ≥75 years old or with hepatic impairment
Overdose Effects
- Manifestations of hypotension, dizziness, tachycardia, bradycardia
- Supportive treatment for symptomatic hypotension
- Excessive peripheral vasodilation with marked hypotension
- Cardiac and respiratory monitoring for massive overdose
- Vasopressors and cardiovascular support for unresponsive hypotension
