Indications
- Treatment of hypertension
- May be used as initial therapy for patients needing multiple drugs for blood pressure goals
Pharmacology
- Fixed dose combination of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
- Telmisartan: angiotensin II antagonist
- Amiodipine: calcium-channel blocker
Dosage & Administration
- Initial therapy dose: 40/5 mg once daily
- Add-on therapy for inadequate control
- Replacement therapy for separate tablets of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
Interaction
- No clinically significant interaction with acetaminophen, glyburide, simvastatin, or warfarin
- Safe administration with thiazide diuretics, beta-blockers, and oral hypoglycemic drugs
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the product or its components
- Pregnancy & lactation
- Biliary obstructive disorders, severe hepatic impairment, hypotension, and cardiogenic shock

Use in Special Populations
- Pediatric use not established
- Initial therapy not recommended for geriatric and hepatically impaired patients
Overdose Effects
- Telmisartan: hypotension, dizziness, tachycardia
- Amiodipine: excessive peripheral vasodilation, marked hypotension
