Dosage
- Adults: 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets or 10-20 ml suspension), every 6-8 hours daily
- Children: 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight or 0.4-0.8 ml pediatric drops/10 kg body weight, every 6-8 hours daily

Oral, 15-30 minutes before meals

Pharmacology
Dopamine antagonist that blocks receptors in CTZ and stomach, promotes gastroprokinetic action, restores normal motility and tone of upper GI tract
Interaction
- Antagonism with anticholinergic drugs
- Effect on oral bioavailability when given with antacids and antisecretory drugs
- Metabolic pathway through CYP3A4
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the drug
- Neonates
- Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
- Mechanical obstruction or perforation
- Prolactin releasing pituitary tumor (prolactinoma)
