Indications

Pharmacology
- Combination of magaldrate and simethicone
- Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid quickly
- Magaldrate decreases pepsin activity
- Simethicone coalesces gas bubbles

Dosage & Administration
- 1-4 chewable tablets after meals and at bedtime
- 2-4 teaspoonfuls (10-20 ml) of suspension after meals and at bedtime
Interaction
- Avoid use with any form of Tetracycline
- May affect bio-availability of drugs like propranolol, isoniazid, prednisolone, and naproxen
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium
- Contraindicated in patients with impaired renal functions
Side Effects
- Uncommon gastrointestinal side-effects
- Excessive consumption may lead to diarrhea, constipation, or regurgitation
Pregnancy & Lactation
- May be used in pregnancy with precaution
- May pass into breast milk but has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies
Precautions & Warnings
- Care should be taken in decreased kidney function
- Care should be taken in hypophosphataemia
- Care should be taken in weak people
