Composition
- Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1250 mg (Coral source)
- Each tablet contains Vitamin D USP 200 IU
- Each DX tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (Coral source)
- Each DX tablet contains Vitamin D USP 400 IU
- Each effervescent tablet contains Calcium Carbonate (Coral source) USP 1500 mg
- Each effervescent tablet contains Vitamin D3 400 IU as Cholecalciferol USP
Pharmacology

- Clinical evidence suggests usefulness for prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis
- Vitamin D aids in Calcium absorption and stimulates bone formation
- Coral Calcium has similar structure to human bone
- Vitamin D3 aids in Calcium absorption from GI tract
- Vitamin D3 helps maintain Calcium balance in the body
Dosage & Administration
- One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water
- Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water to drink orally
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Ion exchange resins may reduce gastrointestinal absorption of vitamin D
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of tetracycline preparations
- Hypercalcaemia may increase toxicity of cardiac glycosides
- Bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride intake may reduce calcium tablet absorption
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia
- Hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria
- Nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the component
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Daily intake during pregnancy should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU cholecalciferol
- Reproductive toxicity with high dose of vitamin D in animals
- Avoid overdoses as permanent hypercalcaemia may affect the developing fetus
Precautions & Warnings
- Monitor serum calcium levels during long-term treatment
- Monitor renal function through measurement of serum creatinine
- Caution with concomitant treatment with other medications
- Monitor calcium and phosphate levels in patients with impairment of renal function
- Consider risks of soft tissue calcification
Overdose Effects
- Hypervitaminosis D
- Hypercalcaemia
- Symptoms include anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, muscle weakness, fatigue
- Treatment includes discontinuation of treatment and rehydration
