Indications
- Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis
- Perennial Allergic Rhinitis

Pharmacology
- Long-acting
- Non-sedative antagonist of histamine H1-receptors
- Antagonizes platelet activating factor (PAF)
- Inhibition of mast cell degranulation
- Inhibition of cytokine release
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose for adults and adolescents: 10 mg once a day
- Recommended dose for children aged 2 to 11 years based on weight
Interaction
- Increases systemic exposure with ketoconazole or erythromycin
- Caution with statins, CNS depressants or alcohol
- Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Rupatadine or excipients
Side Effects
- Common: Asthenia, dizziness, drowsiness
- Uncommon: Appetite increased, arthralgia, back pain, concentration impaired
- Rare: Palpitations, tachycardia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with known QT interval prolongation or hypokalemia
- Caution in elderly patients and those with impaired kidney or liver function
