Description
Albicon DS is a benzimidazole anthelmintic.
Pharmacology
- Broad spectrum anthelmintic
- Vermicidal activity
- Ovicidal activity
- Larvicidal activity
- Blocking glucose uptake in susceptible helminths
- Depleting energy level in helminths
- Immobilization of parasites
- Metabolized in the liver
Dosage & Administration
- 400 mg single dose in certain infestations
- 400 mg daily for strongyloidiasis or taeniasis
- 200 mg single dose for children aged 1-2 years
- Not recommended for children under 1 year
- Hydatid disease treatment regimen

Contraindications
- Not for use in neonates
- Consider reduced dose in children under 10 kg
- Avoid in pregnancy/lactation
- No need for dose alteration in renal, hepatic, or cardiac failure
