Description
- Rosu 20 mg Tablet is a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor drug which is helpful in lowering the cholesterol level and triglycerides in the body. It is indicated for Heterozygous Hypercholesterolemia, Homozygous Hypercholesterolemia, Mixed Dyslipidemia, and primary prevention of cardiovascular disease. It is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, producing lipid-modifying effects by increasing the number of hepatic LDL receptors and inhibiting hepatic VLDL synthesis. The dosage range varies from 5-40 mg once daily, with specific doses for different patient populations. Rosuvastatin can be taken with or without food at any time of day. Drug interactions, contraindications, side effects, and precautions for its use are also important considerations, along with storage conditions and use in special populations like children. It belongs to the therapeutic class of Other Anti-anginal & Anti-ischaemic drugs, Statins.
