Composition

• Sodium Bicarbonate BP 2.32 gm
• Citric Acid BP 2.18 gm
• Sodium Carbonate BP 0.50 gm

Pharmacology

• Fast relief from heartburn, indigestion, hyperacidity & flatulence
• Local action in the stomach
• Components are all dissolved
• Systemic bioavailability not necessary
• Excretion by normal metabolic routes

Dosage & Administration

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 5 gm (one 5 ml spoonful of powder) or one sachet dissolved in a glass of water
• Second dose may be taken after 2-3 hours
• Minimum dosing interval: 2 hours
• Maximum daily dose: 2 X relevant dosage (5 g)
• Maximum duration of antacid use at MDD: 14 days
• Children under 12 years: Do not use

Interaction

• May alter the absorption profile of pH specific drugs given concomitantly

Contraindications

• Restricted sodium diet
• Impaired hepatic and renal function
• Hypersensitivity reaction to any ingredient

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Caution recommended for pregnant women
