Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating complications of itching, pain and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever and urticaria
Pharmacology
- Anti-allergic properties
- Antihistamine properties

- Experimental investigations in asthmatic subjects
Dosage and administration
- Adults: 1 mg twice daily with food
- Children above 3 years: 1 mg twice daily with food
- Elderly: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed in few patients receiving Tifen concomitantly with oral antidiabetic agents
Contraindications
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed in few patients receiving Ketotifen concomitantly with oral antidiabetic agent
- No evidence of teratogenic effect
- Not recommended in pregnancy or when breastfeeding

- Not recommended in pregnancy and lactation
Precautions and warnings
- Continue previous treatment for a minimum of two weeks after starting Kiti to avoid exacerbation of asthma
- Treatment may be impaired during the first day
- Patients advised to avoid alcoholic drinks
- Potentiate effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
