Indications
- Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension patients
Description
- Preservative-free sterile eye drops
- OSD (Ophthalmic squeeze dispenser)
Pharmacology
- Travoprost as a synthetic prostaglandin F2 alpha analogue
- Hydrolysis of isopropyl ester prodrug by corneal esterases
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening
- Instructions for use in adults and pediatric patients
Interaction
- Reduced therapeutic effect with NSAIDs
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to travoprost or any excipients of the preparation
Side Effects
- Most frequently reported side effect: ocular hyperemia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use during pregnancy if potential benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus
- Caution advised during lactation due to unknown excretion in human milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with active intraocular inflammation (iritis/uveitis)
- Not to be administered while wearing contact lenses
