Indications
- Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Pharmacology
Selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Increases cGMP in smooth muscle cells, causing smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow. Also relaxes smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder wall.
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended starting dose for ED: 10 mg
- Recommended starting dose for BPH: 5 mg
- Maximum dosing frequency: once daily
- Effective for up to 36 hours
Interaction
May interact with Nitrates, Alpha adrenergic blockers, Antihypertensives, Alcohol, Antacids, Ketoconazole, Ritonavir, Erythromycin, Itraconazole, Grapefruit juice, HIV protease inhibitors, Rifampin, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Phenobarbital
Contraindications
- Use of Nitrates
- Hypersensitivity reactions to Tadalafil
Side Effects

Pregnancy & Lactation
Category B by the USFDA. Recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk. Caution should be used when administering to nursing women.
Precautions & Warnings
Precaution should be taken in conditions such as angina, renal impairment, hepatic impairment, bleeding concomitant with Nitrates, Alpha Blockers, Alcohol, CYP3A4 Inhibitors, other PDE5 inhibitors
