Description

  • Nerfid 25 mg Capsule is indicated for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury. It also serves as an adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older.

  • 25 mg

Maximum Recommended Daily Dose

  • 300 mg/day for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN)
  • 300 mg/day for postherpetic neuralgia (PHN)
  • 450 mg/day for fibromyalgia
  • 600 mg/day for neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury

Route of Administration

  • Oral

Administration Instructions

  • Can be taken with or without food
  • Pregabalin CR tablet should be administered after an evening meal
  • Swallowed whole and should not be split, crushed or chewed
  • When discontinuing, should be gradually tapered over a minimum of 1 week

Common Side Effects

  • Dizziness
  • Somnolence
  • Dry mouth
  • Edema
  • Blurred vision
  • Weight gain
  • Difficulty with concentration/attention in adults
  • Increased weight and increased appetite in pediatric patients for the treatment of partial onset seizures

Special Populations

  • Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established for certain uses
  • Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation due to potential risks to fetus and potential tumorigenicity

Precautions

  • Angioedema can occur and may be associated with life-threatening respiratory compromise requiring emergency treatment
  • Discontinue immediately in case of hypersensitivity reactions
  • May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior
  • Caution should be exercised when coadministering with thiazolidinedione antidiabetic agents
