Description

  • Pregaben CR 82.5 mg Tablet is an anticonvulsant
  • First-line treatment for neuropathic pain, shingles, seizures, and fibromyalgia
  • Route of administration: Oral, with or without food
  • Must be swallowed whole and should not be split, crushed or chewed
  • Should be administered after an evening meal
  • Should not be discontinued abruptly

Mode of Action

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any of its components

  • No significant interactions with food or others

Side Effects

  • Common side effects in adults: dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, edema, blurred vision, weight gain, thinking abnormal
  • Common side effects in pediatric patients: increased weight, increased appetite

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
  • Small amounts detected in the milk of lactating women
  • Breastfeeding not recommended due to potential risk of tumorigenicity

Precautions & Warnings

  • Angioedema can occur and may be life-threatening, discontinue immediately
  • Discontinue immediately if hypersensitivity reactions occur
  • Increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior
  • Respiratory depression may occur when used with concomitant CNS depressants

Use in Special Populations

  • Safety and effectiveness not established in pediatric patients for various conditions
