Indications
- Treatment of hypertension

Pharmacology
- Dihydropyridine calcium antagonist
- Inhibits transmembrane influx of calcium ions
- Greater effect on vascular smooth muscle cells
- Pharmacologically active levamlodipine
- Tmax of 6-12 hours
- Bioavailability of 64-90%
- Metabolized by CYP3A4
- 60% eliminated in urine
Dosage & Administration
- Oral route of administration
- Usual initial dose of 2.5 mg once daily
- Maximum dose of 5 mg once daily
- Dosage adjustment for elderly and hepatically impaired patients
- Pediatric dosage of 1.25-2.5 mg once daily

Contraindications

Pregnancy & Lactation
