Composition
- 3.5 gm Psyllium husk per spoonful
- Forms thick gel when mixed with water
Description
- Mild laxative
- Contains 80% soluble fibre
- Main chemical ingredient: mucilage
- Soothing effects on gastric & intestinal mucosa
- Lowers serum cholesterol levels (LDL)
- Effective in gastric irritation and ulceration
Dosage
- Usual dose: 1-3 spoonfuls daily or as per doctor's advice
- Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 spoonfuls daily or as per doctor's advice
- Children 6 to 12 years: ½ to 1 spoonful daily or as per doctor's advice
- Children below 6 years: Not recommended except as directed by physician
- Additional glass of water recommended after consumption
Administration
- Take one spoonful with provided spoon
- Put husk into an empty glass
- Fill glass with water (150 ml or 2/3 of the glass) stir & drink immediately

- No significant interaction with other medicines

- Patients with gastrointestinal tract obstruction or threatening obstruction of the bowel
