Indications

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older
- Different dosage for impaired renal function
- Dosage for children from 2 to 11 years
Interaction
- Increase in fexofenadine level when coadministered with erythromycin or ketoconazole
- No interaction with omeprazole
- Reduction in bioavailability when coadministered with antacids
- Recommendation to keep 2 hours gap between Alerfex and antacids
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or its ingredients
Side Effects
- Common undesirable effects include headache, drowsiness, dizziness
- Uncommon effects include nausea and fatigue
- Post-marketing surveillance reported hypersensitivity reactions, insomnia, tachycardia, and diarrhea
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Limited data on use in pregnant women
- No data on human milk content after administration
- Not recommended for mothers breast-feeding their babies

- Limited data in older people and renally or hepatically impaired patients
- Adverse reactions associated with tachycardia and palpitations
