Indications

• Relief of dry cough
• Aids restful sleep

Composition

• Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride BP 14 mg
• Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide BP 6.5 mg
• Levomenthol BP 2 mg

Pharmacology

• Dextromethorphan exerts antitussive activity
• Levomenthol has local anesthetic properties
• Diphenhydramine possesses antitussive and antihistaminic properties

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: 2 teaspoonfuls of syrup 4 times a day
• Children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls of syrup 4 times a day

Interaction

• May potentiate effects of alcohol and CNS depressants
• May potentiate effects of anticholinergics
• Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors may result in symptoms such as hyperpyrexia

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to the product or any of its components
• Taking, or have taken, monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the preceding two weeks

• Blurred vision

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Insufficient information on effects of Dextromethorphan during human pregnancy
• Caution advised during lactation

Precautions & Warnings

• May cause drowsiness
• Not recommended for individuals with narrow-angle glaucoma or symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy
• Caution recommended for adolescents and young adults

Overdose Effects

• Hallucinations and convulsions may appear with higher doses
• Coma or cardiovascular collapse may follow with massive doses
• Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive

• Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place
