Indications
- Seasonal & Perennial Allergic Rhinitis
- Urticaria
Pharmacology
- Long-acting non-sedative antagonist of histamine H1-receptors
- Antagonizes platelet activating factor (PAF)
- Inhibits degranulation of mast cells
- Inhibition of cytokine release
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of 10 mg once a day for adults and adolescents
- Different doses for children based on weight
Interaction
- Increased exposure with ketoconazole or erythromycin
- Caution with statins, CNS depressants, or alcohol
- Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Rupatadine or excipients
Side Effects
- Common: asthenia, dizziness, drowsiness
- Rare: palpitations, tachycardia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No clinical data during pregnancy
- Caution during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with QT interval prolongation
- Not recommended in patients with impaired kidney or liver function

- Not established in patients under 12 years of age
- Not recommended in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency
