Indications: Treatment of signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis, vernal keratoconjunctivitis, blepharitis, and giant papillary conjunctivitis
Pharmacology: Antihistamine that blocks histamine action, reduces allergy symptoms, acts as a mast cell stabilizer and H1 receptor antagonist
Dosage:
- 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.7% eye drop options
- Two sprays per nostril twice daily for adults and adolescents
- 1 tablet (5 mg) twice daily for adults and children 7 years old or over
Administration: Instructions for using nasal spray and cleaning, storing
Interaction: No formal drug-drug interaction studies conducted, primarily eliminated by renal excretion
Contraindications: Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to any component
Side effects: Rare reported headaches, other adverse effects including blurred vision, burning or stinging, dry eye, hypersensitivity
