Description
- Tablets for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in women who do not respond to conservative management.
- Combination of antihistamine and vitamin B6 analog to prevent nausea and vomiting.
Indications
- Treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy
Mode of Action
- Antihistamine that blocks Histamine (H1) receptor
- Decreases the action of histamine at the H1 receptor
- Inhibits both vestibular system & Muscarinic receptor
- Vitamin B6 analog with antiemetic properties
Dosage & Administration
- Initial dose of one tablet orally at bedtime
- Increase to one tablet in the morning and one tablet at bedtime if symptoms persist
- Maximum recommended dose of two tablets per day
- Take on an empty stomach with a glass of water
- Swallow tablets whole
- Do not crush, chew, or split the tablets
- Take daily and not on an as needed basis
Interaction
- Contraindicated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
- Not recommended with alcohol and other CNS depressants
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors

- Somnolence
- Accidents resulting from combined use with CNS depressants
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy category A
- Excreted into breast milk
- Caution while breastfeeding
Precautions & Warnings
- May cause somnolence
- Avoid engagement in activities like driving or operating heavy machinery
- Not recommended with concurrent use of CNS depressants
- Use with caution in women with asthma, increased intraocular pressure, narrow angle glaucoma, peptic ulcer, or urinary bladder-neck obstruction
Overdose Effects
- Extended-release formulation
- Signs and symptoms of intoxication may not be apparent immediately
- Symptoms of overdose include restlessness, dry mouth, dilated pupils, sleepiness, vertigo, mental confusion, tachycardia
- Anticholinergic effects at toxic doses can include seizures, rhabdomyolysis, and acute renal failure
- Treatment includes gastric lavage, activated charcoal, whole bowel irrigation, and symptomatic treatment
