Dosage
- 50 mg Etanercept per week administered either once weekly or 25 mg Etanercept twice weekly for Rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis

Indications
- Reducing signs and symptoms in adults with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
- Inducing major clinical response in adults with RA
- Inhibiting the progression of structural damage in adults with RA
- Improving physical function in adults with RA
- Treatment of polyarticular-course juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in children and adolescents
- Reducing signs and symptoms in adults with Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA)
- Improving physical function in adults with PsA
- Reducing signs and symptoms in adults with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS)
- Treatment of adult patients with chronic moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (PsO)
- Treatment of chronic severe plaque psoriasis in children and adolescents
Pharmacology
- Etanercept is a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker
- Contains the extracellular ligand-binding portion of the human 75 kilodalton (p75) tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) linked to the Fc portion of human IgG1
- Blocks the interaction of TNF with cell surface TNF receptors
- Involvement in normal inflammatory and immune responses
Administration
- Subcutaneous injections in the thigh, abdomen or upper arm
- Injection site rotation
- Allowing the pre-filled syringe to reach room temperature before injection
- Activating needle guard before disposal
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to etanercept or any component of the formulation
- Sepsis or risk of sepsis
- Serious active infections, including chronic or localized infection
