Indications

Pharmacology
- Histamine H2-receptor antagonist
- Inhibition of gastric acid secretion
- Slowly reversible H2-receptor antagonist activity
Dosage & Administration
- Famotidine 20mg twice daily for adults
- Famotidine 40mg once daily at bedtime for adults
- Adjusted dosage for age and symptoms
- Healing within 4-8 weeks for most ulcer patients
- Maintenance therapy dosage: 20mg once daily
- Oral suspension dosage based on age
- Dosage for patients 1-16 years of age
Interaction
- No clinically important drug interactions
- No interaction with cytochrome P450-linked drug-metabolizing enzyme system
