Indications

Composition
- Contains Esomeprazole MUPS 20 Tablet
- Contains Esomeprazole MUPS 40 Tablet
Dosage
- 40 mg once daily for adults (≥18 years) with erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg once daily for children & adolescents (12-18 years) with erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg twice daily for adults (≥18 years) for H. pylori eradication
Pharmacology
- Inhibits gastric acid by blocking the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system
- Effective for short-term treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers
- Used in prevention and treatment of NSAID associated gastric ulcers
Administration
- Tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid
- Can be dispersed in half a glass of non-carbonated water if required
- Should not be chewed or crushed
Interaction
- Extensively metabolized in the liver by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- Not likely to inhibit CYPs 1A2, 2A6, 2C9, 2D6, 2E1 and 3A4
- May potentially interfere with CYP2C19, the major metabolizing enzyme
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation
