Indications

• Management of moderate to moderately severe pain in adults
• Short-term (five days or less) management of acute pain

Pharmacology

• Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties
• Tramadol is a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended dose of 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours for moderate to moderately severe pain
• Recommended dose of 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours for short-term acute pain
• Can be administered without regard to food

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to tramadol, paracetamol, or opioids
• Any situation where opioids are contraindicated

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy Category C - use only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
• Not recommended for obstetrical preoperative medication or post-delivery analgesia in nursing mothers

Precautions & Warnings

• May impair mental or physical abilities
• Should not be taken with alcohol
• Not to be taken with other tramadol or paracetamol-containing products
• Use with caution when taking tranquilizers, hypnotics, or other opiate-containing analgesics

Use in Special Populations

• Safety and effectiveness not studied in pediatric population
• Dose selection for elderly patients should be cautious
• Not studied in patients with impaired renal function
• Not studied in patients with impaired hepatic function
