Indications

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of one 200mg extended release tablet daily for adults
- Recommended dose of 100mg film coated tablet twice daily for adults
Interaction
- No significant drug interactions observed
- Close monitoring required with lithium and digoxin
- Interaction with diuretics
- Interaction with anticoagulants
- Increase in plasma levels of methotrexate
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to it
- Contraindicated in patients where aspirin or NSAIDs precipitate attacks of asthma
Side Effects
- Non-steroidal drug with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties
- Involvement in the production of prostaglandin
- Rapid and complete absorption after oral administration
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Avoidance in pregnancy and lactation unless potential benefits outweigh possible risks to the fetus
Precautions & Warnings
- Exercised caution in patients with active or suspected peptic ulcer
- Exercised caution in patients with gastro-intestinal bleeding
- Exercised caution in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment
- Exercised caution in patients with cardiac or renal impairment
- Exercised caution in patients suffering from dizziness
- Exercised caution in patients suffering from urticaria
