Description
- MUPS: Multiple-Unit Pellet System
- Ensures greater bioavailability

Pharmacology
- Inhibits gastric acid by blocking the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system
Dosage
- Erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for adults, 20 mg once daily for children & adolescents
- Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis: 20 mg once daily for adults and children & adolescents
- Risk reduction in NSAID associated gastric ulcer: 20 mg once daily for adults
- H. pylori eradication: 20 mg twice daily for adults and children & adolescents
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and idiopathic hypersecretion: 40-80 mg twice daily for adults
Administration
- Tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid
Interaction
- Extensively metabolized by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- No clinically relevant interactions with drugs metabolized by CYP enzymes
- Potential interference with CYP2C19
- May interfere with gastric pH-dependent drug absorption
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation
