Composition
- Methyl Salicylate BP 300 mg
- Menthol BP 100 mg
- Camphor BP 40 mg
- Wintergreen oil (as Methyl salicylate) 122.70 mg
- Mentha Piperita (as Menthol) 415.40 mg
- Cinnamomum Camphora (as Camphor) 415.40 mg
Pharmacology
- Reduction of pain through spasmolytic action
- Reduction of muscles spasm
- Increased pain threshold level
- Inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzyme
- Cooling and soothing effect
- Decongestant properties
- Cough suppression
Dosage & Administration
- Apply generously to the painful area
- Gently massage until the cream disappears
- Apply not more than 3 to 4 times daily
- Use as frequently as needed for nasal inhaler
Interaction
- Systemic absorption through the skin
- Potential increase in Warfarin action
Contraindications
- Patients with bleeding disorders
- Allergy to Salicylate or sensitivity to any components
- Application to broken skin or raw surfaces not recommended
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients for nasal inhaler
- Not recommended for children under 12 years of age for nasal inhaler
Side Effects
- Temporary burning
- Stinging
- Dryness in the nose
- Sneezing may occur
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding
Precautions & Warnings
- External use only
- Do not use with a heating pad
- Keep away from children
- Do not use tight bandage
- Do not swallow
- Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes
- Monitor for skin redness or irritation
- Therapy might be hazardous for patients with impaired kidney or liver function or smaller children
