Description
- Sympathomimetic agent for nasal use

Indications

Mode of Action
- Alpha-adrenergic activity for vasoconstriction of nasal blood vessels
- Resumes nasal airflow for easier breathing
- Selective agonist at alpha-adrenoceptors
Dosage and Administration
- Adults: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times daily
- Children 6-12 years: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times daily
- Children less than 6 years: 1 drop in each nostril 2-3 times daily
- Nasal spray dosage for different age groups
Interactions
- No reported drug interactions
Contraindications
- Not for patients with transsphenoidal hypophysectomy or exposed dura mater
- Hypersensitivity to Xylometazoline
- Single-person use to prevent cross-infection
- Avoid prolonged use for more than 7 days
