Description

  • Uri-K is a stable and pleasant-tasting oral systemic alkalizer indicated for relieving discomfort in urinary tract infections, preventing kidney stone formation, preventing gout with a uricosuric agent, and treating acidosis caused by kidney diseases.

Ingredients

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult dosage: 10-15 ml 4 times daily (or as directed by the physician) diluted with 1 glass of water
  • Pediatric dosage: 5-10 ml 4 times daily (or as directed by the physician) diluted with ½ glass of water
  • Can be diluted with specified amounts of water for different age groups

Interactions

  • Concurrent administration of potassium-containing medication, potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or cardiac glycosides may lead to toxicity

Contraindications

  • Hyperkalemia from any cause

Side Effects

Precautions & Warnings

Overdose Effects

  • If hyperkalemia occurs, immediate treatment measures include elimination of potassium-containing foods or medications, intravenous administration of dextrose solution, and use of exchange resins, hemodialysis, or peritoneal dialysis
